About the place
The temple on Lake Bratan pictured on the 50,000-rupiah note. Built in 1633 for the lake goddess Dewi Danu, its two meru towers stand on islets and seem to float when the water is high.
One of Bali's most visited temples, at its best in morning mist. A park, boats and the Bedugul market surround it. At 1,200 metres the temperature is 18–24 degrees.
