About the place
One of Bali's six main temples stands on the edge of a 70-metre cliff above the ocean. A path runs along the cliff with views of the waves, and the temple's monkeys are known for stealing glasses and phones.
Every evening at sunset the kecak fire dance on the terrace by the temple draws hundreds of spectators. For the area the temple sets a boundary: the land around it is sacred and cannot be built on.
