What has opened
Swiss-Belhotel International has added to its Bali portfolio with the soft opening of the five-star Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud Bali. A soft opening means the hotel operates in a trial mode before its official launch.
The resort offers 90 rooms and suites along with four standalone wooden pavilions. Room sizes run from 40 to 106 square metres. Selected rooms come with heated private plunge pools and smart room technology.
Facilities
There are two restaurants. Giwangkara serves all day, and Udupi offers multiple cuisines with a dedicated vegetarian kitchen. A terraced pool with cascading water features is served by the Petanu Pool Bar.
A grand ballroom, meeting rooms and wedding venues round out the offer. That means the resort will compete for weddings and corporate groups as well as leisure guests.
Who is behind it
The owner is PT Ratna Forever Hospitality, whose founder is Sudharman Shetty. Gavin M. Faull, chairman and president of Swiss-Belhotel International, called Indonesia a cornerstone of the group's global expansion.
The soft opening runs through July and August 2026, with the official launch planned for September. Introductory rates are offered during the soft opening phase.
What it means for Ubud
Swiss-Belhotel's loyalty programme spans more than 165 hotels worldwide and gives members discounts of 10% to 35%. Programmes like this bring the chain's repeat guests straight to the resort.
A private villa has to win each guest on its own through platforms and direct sales. That makes ratings, photos and reviews especially important for owners.
