The new service
The first Starlux Airlines aircraft landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on the afternoon of October 1, 2026. The return flight left the same day at 5:49 pm local time, ANTARA reported.
The airline uses an Airbus A321 with 188 seats. It flies five times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The inbound flight number is JX765 and the outbound one is JX766.
Three carriers on one route
Before Starlux arrived, China Airlines and EVA Air were the only airlines flying nonstop between Taipei and Bali. Travellers from Taiwan now have three options. Airport general manager Nugroho Jati called the launch a very positive achievement for the island's international connectivity.
According to the airport, Bali now hosts 45 foreign airlines with the new carrier included. Together they operate 43 international routes.
The new route extends the airport's network. Between January and August 2026, 15.5 million passengers passed through Ngurah Rai, 10 million of them on international flights, the airport said.
What it means for demand
In BPS (Statistics Indonesia) data for the first half of 2026, Taiwan is not among Bali's ten largest source markets. Australia, China and India send the most visitors.
Extra seats make the trip easier, but they do not create visitor flows on their own. The effect of the new route should show up in monthly BPS country data over the coming months. It is also worth watching whether the airline keeps its frequency through the low season.
For property owners, news like this is an early signal. An airline opens a route when it expects demand. Only ticket sales and load factors can confirm it, and the airline has not disclosed them.
