Passengers and flights
Between January and August 2026, 15.5 million passengers passed through Bali's airport. International flights carried 10 million of them and domestic flights 5.5 million. That works out to roughly 64,000 passengers a day, ANTARA reported, citing the airport.
Aircraft movements over the same period reached 94,000. International flights accounted for 52,000 and domestic flights for 42,000.
Where passengers come from
Singapore is the busiest international route with 1.7 million passengers, or 18% of international traffic. Kuala Lumpur follows with 1 million, then Perth with 794,000, Melbourne with 731,000 and Sydney with 574,000.
On the domestic side Jakarta leads with 2.5 million passengers, followed by Surabaya, Labuan Bajo, Lombok and Makassar.
Immigration data show 4.7 million foreign arrivals in the eight months. The largest groups came from Australia (1.1 million), China (418,000), India (363,000), the UK (206,000) and South Korea (203,000).
Airport capacity
The airport serves 65 routes operated by 44 foreign and 11 Indonesian airlines. A new walkway linking the international and domestic terminals opened on August 17, making transfers easier.
Passenger counts include arrivals, departures and transit, so they are not the same as visitor numbers. For housing demand it is more useful to read them alongside BPS arrival and hotel occupancy data.
For comparison, during the 2025/26 year-end season the airport handled an average of 70,400 passengers a day, detikBali reported. The January to August norm is about 64,000 a day, which shows how far the peak sits above an ordinary month.
