Golden Visa (E28C)

Golden Visa (E28C) · Golden Visa (E28C) / investor KITAS

In one sentence. Indonesia's long-term residence for investors: $350k in government bonds/shares/deposit for 5 years or $700k for 10 years for individual investors; an apartment from $1 million is the property route; a single $139k villa does not qualify.

The Golden Visa (index E28C for individual investors without setting up a company) was introduced in 2023. Thresholds: $350,000 in Indonesian government bonds, listed shares or a state-bank deposit — 5 years' stay; $700,000 — 10 years. The property variant is buying an apartment (not land) from $1 million. Corporate investors face different thresholds ($2.5m / $5m).

For a villa buyer this means a $139–250k leasehold does not meet the criteria; the property route is titled apartments from $1 million only. If the goal is living in Bali with one villa, the Second Home Visa or an investor KITAS through an existing PT PMA is cheaper and simpler.

A comparison of routes by budget and geography is in the residence-through-property article.
