NIB (business identification number)

NIB (Nomor Induk Berusaha) is the registration number OSS assigns to a sole trader or company; it doubles as the registration certificate, importer number and the basis for licences. KBLI activity codes hang off the NIB — and those are what platforms and the tax office check.

Two roles in a deal. Vetting the developer/contractor: the company must have an NIB with a construction code; the OSS record shows registration date and status. Legal rental: since 1 August 2026 Airbnb and Booking delist properties without an NIB and KBLI 55193 on the tourism ministry's lists — about 1,600 properties in the first wave, Bali among five priority destinations.

For a foreign individual on a leasehold, the rental NIB is usually held by a licensed management company that includes the villa in its licence package; a PT PMA of your own has not been registrable for this in Bali since 2026.
