OTAs (booking platforms) and delisting
OTA (платформы бронирования) и делистинг · Online Travel Agencies (Airbnb, Booking.com)
An OTA (Online Travel Agency) is where the guest finds and pays for the villa. Fees: Airbnb ~3% from the host plus a guest service fee (or 14–16% host-only), Booking.com 15–18% from the host. In Bali the vast majority of nightly bookings come via OTAs; direct sales are repeat guests and long stays.
The 2026 delisting: since 31 March platforms remove listings without the permit package; since 1 August they do so from tourism-ministry lists (about 1,600 properties in the first wave, Bali among five priority destinations). Checked: an NIB, the right KBLI and an NKU registration number. How the mechanism works, what the platform checks and how to restore a listing — in the article.
A 4.8+ rating and Guest Favourite status on Airbnb are a listing's main asset: the algorithm ranks by them, not price. Delivered DOMA-partner villas hold 4,000+ reviews combined.
