What the speaker decided
Bali DPRD speaker Dewa Made Mahayadnya said Pansus TRAP will not be extended. The special committee monitors compliance with rules on zoning, asset management and permits.
The committee must first complete its report for the second six-month period. The document will go to the provincial executive, which is responsible for acting on the recommendations.
How the committee worked
Pansus TRAP was set up on 3 September 2025 for six months, running to 3 March 2026. A second term began on 6 April 2026 by parliamentary decision. It is chaired by I Made Supartha.
In June 2026, Bali Post reported, the committee handed parliament its recommendations on development on Serangan island and on unlicensed villas in a forest area of Pejarakan village in Buleleng. It called for zoning compliance and restored public access to the coast.
What comes next
A new term will only be considered if the provincial government makes clear progress on the recommendations. Any extension would also need the backing of every faction in parliament.
The end of the mandate does not cancel recommendations already issued. Sealing and demolition orders remain with the provincial executive and the regencies.
Why it matters for the market
Over two terms the committee became a visible source of pressure on building in contested zones. Its inspections covered properties near mangroves, in forest areas and on the coast.
The weight now shifts to the executive. How the province and regencies act on the recommendations will decide the fate of the properties already flagged.
The report for the second term has not yet been published. Its contents will show which areas and types of violation stay in focus.
