The cruise numbers
According to Pelindo, 18 liners with 78,241 passengers called at Benoa in 2023. In 2024 there were 56 ships and 107,717 passengers. From January to November 2025 the port handled 49 ships and 96,013 people, with 66 calls expected for the full year.
73 calls are scheduled for 2026. Shortly before publication, Viking Venus and Silver Moon docked at the same time, bringing more than 2,000 passengers.
A longer berth
Port general manager Anak Agung Gede Agung Mataram said the terminal handles 3,000 people and the berth is 500 metres long. The plan is to extend it to 1,300 metres so four cruise ships can berth together.
The article gives no timeline for the extension, so it remains a plan.
Maritime hub and marina
BMTH (Bali Maritime Tourism Hub) is a national strategic project and, according to the port, is 100% complete.
Inside the hub, PT Marina Development Indonesia is building a pontoon marina for about 180 yachts. At its groundbreaking in 2024 it was reported that 50 berths would take superyachts up to 90 metres.
Marina timing
At the marina groundbreaking in 2024, Pelindo said the first berths would open in the fourth quarter of 2025, with full capacity expected in 2027. The project covers 3.3 hectares and includes a yacht club, offices, restaurants and event space.
Growth shows in passenger numbers as well. Between 2023 and 2024 calls more than tripled, while passenger traffic rose by about 38%.
