What the minister saw
Environment Minister Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat inspected the TOSS center in Kusamba village, Klungkung regency. TOSS stands for an on-site waste processing facility. It uses pyrolysis (heating waste without air) to produce alternative diesel and pressed briquettes that the minister called green coal.
The regency bought the machines together with PT Inpac Solution Indo and PT Bali Bersih Bersinar. A single unit handles 750 kg, and the full set of four is targeted at roughly 26-30 tonnes a day, according to the report. That figure is a target.
Status of the plans
The minister said the model could be copied in other regions if it works at scale. For now this is a statement and a condition, not a decision. He also admitted a geographic hurdle: Bali is a small island, while most heavy industry sits on Java.
Klungkung Regent I Made Satria said no clear offtaker exists so far. He asked the minister to help open a market, for example through state firms such as Pertamina.
