July arrivals
According to BPS Bali, the island received 697,809 foreign visitors in July 2026. That is 0.10% more than in July 2025 and 15.34% more than in June. July was the first month of 2026 to show growth on a yearly basis.
Over seven months, 3,900,965 foreign visitors arrived. That is 1.98% fewer than in the same period last year.
Where visitors came from
Australia led with 174,539 arrivals, or 25.01% of the total. China (59,029), India (39,624), France (34,826) and England (31,667) followed.
By region, Europe edged past Oceania with 200,182 arrivals against 195,481. BPS Bali head Agus Gede Hendrayana Hermawan put this down to peak season and school holidays in source countries.
Australia's share stayed at about a quarter of all arrivals, as in the first half of the year.
Hotel occupancy
TPK, the room occupancy rate, at star rated hotels reached 67.29% in July. That is 2.42 percentage points higher than in June.
Five star hotels were 74.45% full. Four star hotels reached 65.42%, up 4.47 points on the month. The figures cover hotels rather than private villas, but they show the overall level of high season demand.
What it means for the year
In the first half of 2026 arrivals ran 2.42% below the previous year, according to BPS. July was the first month in which that trend turned, although the gain was a minimal 0.10%.
July is traditionally peak season, so comparing it directly with spring months is misleading. August and September will show whether the recovery holds.
